Alexander G. Budagov graduated from Moscow Petroleum Institute in 1960. He worked in the system of the USSR Ministry of Geology (Mingeo). His way was from geophysicist-observer to a Deputy Head in Geophysical Department. From 1987 to 1994, he was Deputy Director of VNIIGeofizika; since 1997 — Head of a division in the of Science and Marine Works Department, Russian Ministry of Natural Resources.
In his scientific and practical activities, Alexander pays great attention to the development of methods and techniques of geophysical works, computer technologies, development of new concepts of geological and geophysical equipment. His scientific interests include geological and geophysical research in exploration of oil and gas deposits on sea shelf and in transition zones, especially on Sakhalin and Kamchatka shelf.
Alexander has Ph.D. degree in Geology and Mineralogy; he is a winner of USSR Council of Ministers Award, Honoured Geologist of the Russian Federation, and Honoured Prospector.
Alexander is the author of more than 50 scientific papers. He's been in geophysics for over 30 years.
